PEETU GRÖNHOLM, BORN 1994

I

I am Peetu Grönholm, born in Turku in 1994, and I grew up in Mynämäki. My passion for art was awakened in early childhood, when I got excited about drawing and painting. I clearly remember my first dinosaurs made of modeling wax, which were my first steps into the world of creativity.

Art has always been a central part of my life. School days and visits to my grandparents offered opportunities to draw and express myself both on paper and behind my notebook. In childhood, friends and acquaintances admired my artistic talent, which only strengthened my decision to follow my passion.

​

In 2023, I was encouraged to start my own art company, FinnArt, with the aim of sharing my creations with a wider audience. Through the company, I get to present and sell my art, thus bringing my art closer to people.

ART MEDIUMS

My own artistic skills include a wide selection of different art tools.

 

For a long time, pencil drawings were the most important way for me to express myself. Later, however, I noticed that this brought limitations to my works and I decided to practice drawing with charcoal.

 

Since then, charcoal drawings have been one of the most important forms of art for me. Charcoal gives you the freedom to make flying and spectacular works. The downside of charcoal works is their shelf life and workability.

With inks, I usually make smaller artworks with a higher contrast. Inks work like watercolors, but the color palette is narrower. The inks also work as good tools for making sketches.

​

For making large and colorful works, acrylic painting is the best option for me. The quick drying time of acrylic paints and the easy cleaning of tools compared to oil make painting easier and more fun. I also feel that acrylic paint is easy to work with, so this also helps me realize myself.
